DESCRIPTION

Fatima, a place of pilgrimage, is one of the most esteemed religious centers in the world, where the three shepherds witnessed the apparition of Our Lady on May 13, 1917.

On the UNESCO World Heritage Route, stop to visit the Batalha Monastery – masterpiece of the late Gothic, the monastery, founded in 1385. Not far away, we find the Abbey of Santa Maria de Alcobaça, Order of Cistercian , was founded in 1153 by the first king of Portugal – one of the best preserved Cistercian monasteries.

The itinerary follows the village of the ocean coast of Nazareth, famous fishing land, with waves with biblical dimensions, ancient pilgrimage route and devotion to Nossa Senhora da Nazaré – one of the most significant Marian sanctuaries of Portugal, from the seventeenth to the nineteenth centuries.

The must-stop medieval town of Óbidos is one of the most picturesque and well-preserved in Portugal and where we can enjoy the famous Ginjinha de Óbidos, traditionally taken in a chocolate cup, which are excellent reasons to visit.
